Dads Cycle Challenge - Sunday 16th May 2010
Dads Cycle Challenge - post event report.
Whilst the sun did not shine the sense of camaraderie was intense. 65 dads representing 7 playgroups (Rodborough, Avening, Woodchester, Ridgeway, Uley, Painswick and Uplands) cycled across Minchinhampton and Rodborough Common on Sunday in their striking green and yellow t-shirts designed by Vietnamthemovie.
Despite the showers the playgroups put on face painting, cake stalls, bouncy castles, tombolas and BBQs amongst other activities at the 7 checkpoints (The Crown Inn, The Halfway House, The Old Lodge, The Black Horse Inn, The Bear of Rodborough, Winstones Ice Cream and the Prince Albert).
All the pubs and Winstones enjoyed brief spikes (or not so brief!) in sales. The dads and playgroups have done themselves proud raising in excess of £5735 which is expected to continue to rise.
Thanks goes to the sponsors, cheerleaders and supporters that made the Dads Cycle Challenge a real community event. Fun was had by all.
