Local Toddler groups and Pre-school groups need your help.

If your child is over 2 years 9 months they can start attending pre-school or playgroup in your local area. Also from the age of 3 the child will be entitled to nursery vouchers which will cover the fees. To find out your nearest setting contact the children’s Information service, Gloucestershire on 0800 542 0202, or contact your local school to see if they run a group. The Children’s Information Service can provide free, impartial information and guidance on: finding and choosing suitable childcare; funded early years education; Child and Working Tax Credits and family support.  We are open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, except Wednesday 10am-7pm.

Minchinhampton Nursery Group

Eastington Playgroup

St Josephs Pre-school, Nympsfield.

We are a small, friendly pre-school, based in a classroom in St Joseph’s Catholic School and set in lovely grounds.  We have a warm, bright classroom with a large range of floor toys, home corner, sandpit, water play, with lots of opportunities to get creative with fun craft activities, story-time, music time and computer sessions.  With the pre-school based in the school and the children using the schools facilities the whole experience promotes a smooth transition into school enabling the children to settle in quickly. The pre-school is open on Monday, Tues, Thurs and Friday 9am-1pm.   Children can attend from 2 years and all cultures and spiritual backgrounds accepted. Nursery vouchers accepted. PATA registered. Little Artists

Here's why I started Little Artists, and what it's about...
 

My daughter loves painting, and there are lots of arts and crafts activities that I would like to do with her. However, we don't have that much space at home to do it. Around the same time that I was thinking about doing more arts and crafts activities with her,

I was also thinking about starting up my own business - something that would involve working with young children and/or their parents. The idea came to me of merging the two ideas, and setting up an arts and crafts session for pre-school children. I asked friends what they thought, and the consensus seemed to be that there was an absence of something like this in Stroud.
So I have set up Little Artists, and initially will be running one session a week, on a Thursday morning (9.30-10.30am) at the Maypole Village Hall in Paganhill, Stroud. If this is successful my aim is to set up more sessions, not just in Stroud but in other villages and towns in Gloucestershire.
The website provides information about the sessions themselves, but the idea is that in each session there will be 4 activities - one 'structured' activity where the children will make something to take home, and the other 3 will give the children opportunities to draw/create what they like using the resources provided.
